Ahhhhh

Ahhhh. That word applies to three things today.

First. I finished my pink TV blanket today. Yay me! It is sewn, tied, and keeping me comfy warm. "Ahhhh - this new blanket feels so good!" There's a storm in the distance so a new TV blanket is a good thing.

Second. Dad has had a couple of stress filled days at work. Those don't happen very often. But some pretty important stuff was happening and Doug was involved with it. So when he got home he released a long heartfelt, "Ahhhh." He's really glad to be done with it.

Third. We saw an awesome rainbow on the way home from eating out. It was a really bright rainbow. It was a complete one too - from one pot of gold to the other. Doug told me he saw a Leprechaun sliding down the rainbow. But it got a huge "Ahhhh" too. There were hints of double rainbow but it never got very bright. What a way to end the day. (Picture doesn't do it justice.)

Busy

What keeps me busy. Well I have been working on this lovely t-shirt quilt. I have made one for 3 of my kids. This is the last one I need to do to be fair and even.
I am also busy making myself, yes that means for me, a new small TV blanket. The orange one I have is over 20 years old and is looking pretty ratty. I decided to get some material and make myself a new one in pinks. I have made all the triangle edging pieces and have them stitched onto the top piece. The flannel backing is tennis themed. Appropriate. I will need someone to help me tie the blankets. Any volunteers? I didn't think so.

I am also busy trying to make tasty bread. Mom gave me a delicious molasses bread recipe the other day. I've made it a few times and it is delicious. This particular recipe is a knock off for the bread you get at Black Angus. I must say it is very tasty. I am also going to get the book called "Artisan bread in 5 minutes a day" or "Heathy bread in 5 minutes a day". If' I'm feeling rich I'll get both. Those books have a technique that you can make and store bread dough in the fridge. Then you just pull out enough to make a loaf every day - a loaf of crusty delicious and healthy bread. My mouth waters when I consider the possibilities.

Worm

The rain has finally stopped. Now I have a worm problem. The worms got water-logged with all our rain (almost 4 inches) and squirmed up out of the dirt. They inched along to someplace - anyplace to get a breath of fresh air. But Phoenix worms don't get much practice and they headed the wrong way.

I have no less than 35 squiggly worms in varying stages of dehydration on my front porch. Now what do I do? Worm soup anyone?
